Patricia A. Purcell joined Hersh Family Law Practice, P.C. in March 2024. She has more than thirteen years of experience representing clients with Family Law issues in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area Counties. She approaches her work from a firm belief that each couple or family is unique and will have their own context and challenges to be resolved. She provides legal advocacy and advice that is attuned to your specific circumstances and priorities. Patricia has experience in all aspects of family law, from pre and post marital agreements to divorce, child support, spousal support, complex property division, move-aways, and enforcement of existing orders. Patricia is cognizant of the many benefits derived from pursuing resolution through a negotiated settlement when possible, however, she will advise you as to when you may need to proceed with litigation or court intervention and transition her efforts on your behalf accordingly. She is experienced in utilizing the expertise of financial planners, business valuators, mental health professionals, estate planners, and accountants when appropriate to aid in settlement or litigation.

Patricia is a member of the Family Law Section of the California State Bar, the San Francisco County Bar Association and of Queen’s Bench. Patricia earned her Juris Doctor degree from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, formerly Hastings College of the Law in 2000 and was admitted to practice by the California State Bar that same year. Prior to attending law school Patricia obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
