Monica Lee

Monica joined Hersh FamilyLaw Practice in 2025. Monica is a dedicated attorney who understands the complexities that come with navigating family law disputes. With extensive experience in all aspects of marital dissolutions, including property division, child and spousal support, custody matters, as well as post-judgment enforcement and modifications, Monica is committed to guiding clients through one of the most challenging times in their lives. She has nearly two decades of experience in family law, with her practice primarily focused on high-asset cases that involve intricate financial issues such as the apportionment of stock, stock options, RSUs, and privately held business interests.
 
Recognizing that family law disputes are often difficult and can be overwhelming, Monica works closely with each client to ensure they fully understand their options and feel empowered to make informed decisions. She takes a hands-on approach, communicating and collaborating not only with her clients but also with a trusted network of professionals, including forensic accountants, financial planners, and experts specializing in psychology and child development, to craft strategies that are tailored to each unique situation.
 
Monica is also committed to pursuing alternatives to traditional litigation where possible, serving as a consulting attorney in mediation to her clients. She received her mediation training from Gary Friedman through The Center for Understanding Conflict, equipping her with the skills to guide clients through the mediation process with confidence and effectiveness.
 
Monica attended Santa Clara University School of Law and received her J.D. in 2006. She received her B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. Prior to and during law school, Monica worked at a nonprofit agency as an advocate for victims of domestic violence, where she witnessed firsthand the profound impact that legal support can have on individuals and families in crisis. This experience solidified her commitment to helping people navigate difficult legal situations with both legal expertise and empathy. During law school, Monica was awarded the Public Interest Social Justice Law Board Summer Grant, recognizing her dedication to public service. She also received awards in law school for her achievements in remedies and legal research and writing. She is a member of the State Bar of California (Family Law Section) and is also admitted to the Bar of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
